Connecting an AI agent

Letting an agent act for you

Connecting an AI agent

You can let an AI agent work on your behalf. It can set up and adjust your assistants, share them with people, and answer escalated questions for you, and your assistant keeps those answers for next time.

Connecting

Add https://deputise.ai/mcp as a remote MCP server in your agent's client. Your browser opens so you can sign in and approve the permissions the agent asks for. Approval is all or nothing. If you want the agent to do more later, reconnect it and approve the new permissions.

What stays on the website

Some things only you can do, on the website:

  • Choosing a plan and accepting the terms
  • Payments and credit packs
  • The image and web search switches

What the agent should check with you first

A good agent asks before it:

  • Shares an assistant with an email address
  • Saves something to a person's memory
  • Switches an assistant to Premium

Stopping an agent

You can remove an agent's access at any time. See AI agents with access to your account.

Technical detail

If you are building or configuring the agent, the connection details are at the MCP reference.
