1. Purpose and Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy defines acceptable and prohibited use of Deputise.
It forms part of our terms of service and is incorporated into them, so breaking this policy is a breach of your agreement with us.
It applies to everyone who uses Deputise: to a person who creates an assistant, to a person who was invited to use one, and to both of them at once where the same person does both.
2. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for prompts, instructions, uploaded material, and any outputs you choose to rely on or share.
If you own an assistant, you are responsible for how it behaves toward the people you invite. You choose the instructions it follows and the material it answers from, and we do not show that configuration to the people you invite. An assistant answers on its own and escalates to you when the person chatting asks for a human, so your responsibility covers what it says when you are not there to see it. Instructing an assistant to do anything in section 3 is your breach of this policy, whoever it says it to.
If you were invited to an assistant, you are responsible for what you send it and for how you use what it tells you. Its answers are produced from instructions its owner wrote, and they are not that owner's considered reply to you.
3. Prohibited Use
You must not use Deputise to:
- Engage in unlawful activity
- Create or distribute malware, phishing, or fraud content
- Harass, threaten, or abuse individuals or groups
- Generate or promote non-consensual sexual content
- Promote violence, terrorism, or extremist activity
- Infringe intellectual property rights or misuse confidential information
- Attempt to bypass security controls, rate limits, or access restrictions
- Abuse platform resources in ways that disrupt service for others
4. High-Risk Use
Do not use Deputise as the sole basis for high-stakes decisions in areas such as legal, medical, financial, employment, or safety-critical contexts without qualified human review.
5. Moderation and Enforcement
To protect users and platform integrity, Deputise may investigate policy breaches.
If we find a breach, we may suspend an assistant so that it answers nobody, or suspend the account behind it so that its holder cannot sign in. Both can be lifted. We may also remove an account entirely, as set out in our terms of service. Where the law requires it we may report illegal activity.
When we suspend an assistant or an account we tell the account holder by email what we have done and the reason for it. If you think we have got it wrong, write to safety@deputise.ai and tell us why. What a suspension means, and how to contest one, is set out in being suspended.
6. Reporting Issues
If you believe content or behaviour breaches this policy, tell us at safety@deputise.ai with enough detail for us to investigate. If the content is an answer an assistant gave you in a conversation you took part in, you can also report it from the conversation itself, which is described in reporting an answer.
7. Updates
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as requirements evolve. An update takes effect on the effective date shown at the top of this policy.
