For assistant builders

Build assistants

You do not need a handbook to begin. Start with a question you often answer, add the details that make your advice useful, share the assistant with the people who fire the questions your way.

  1. Choose a product or problem to help with

Choose a type - we have numerous options to guide the setup. Think of the person you want to help, and what to help them with. Such as, helping Dad with his phone, answering team questions or practising a subject. Setup asks for the details it needs.

  2. Give it the context you know

Tell it the product, explain the process, or give it the facts to work from. Add your own context: where the device lives, how it is set up, and address any specifics the person finds difficult. Equip it with whatever knowledge it needs that you can guide on.

  3. Build and test it, then invite someone

Once you have it setup, ask a few everyday questions in Test Chat. Adjust anything that feels wrong, then just send an email invitation. As people use it, you can answer requests for help and add missing details to the brief.
